Kurt had read that there was an idyllic mountain valley, located a mere hour’s drive west of Cork City. When he started to see Gougane Barra’s valley and lough (lake) unfold before him, Kurt was immediately overcome by its tranquil beauty. The memory of that magical place has never left him. Years later, Kurt was composing an Irish-sounding song that had the feel of a sunrise. He remembered that beautiful valley he’d visited so long ago and named the new piece, Dawn at Gougane Barra.

"Revolution X" is a time-twisting film of good against evil. It tells a story of humanity and the grounding, undeniable power of human will. Through the juxtaposition of positive and negative forces, the consequences of disregard to our individual purposes, parallels the liberation that comes with empathy and connection. By transcending time and reality, the dual narrative explores the debate of nature vs nurture, and their impact on the film rejects conventions of mainstream sci-fi that conforms to an action orientated spectacle, and instead focuses on the why rather than the what, allowing for a thought provoking production.

Voices - Ciinderella Balthazar    (4 mins)

dir: Vittoria Rizzardi Peñalosa, Ciinderella Balthazar

BLOCK S - Thursday, 23rd November, 6:00pm

The visuals of "VOICES" are inspired by the artist's heritage: the Mapuche indigenous tribe in Chile, known as People Of The Earth.

In Mapuche mythology, Antu represents the Sun (pictured through the golden palette), as well as light, wisdom and spirit, and is married to Kueyen, a Wangulén spirit that represents the moon, (which we brought to life through the silver set up). In this video, the singer appears as both the Sun & the Moon as a visual representation of light and darkness, of femininity and masculinity. The duality of our own spirituality and our internal voices.

Through her journey from the top of a cliff right down to the depth of the sea, we wanted to highlight the process of understanding and listening to our own voice against the echo of others and learn how to love it and celebrate it. Our rebirth (water element) when we understand the journey we are meant to be on.
